Yogi had his yearly check up on Saturday, and he is in wonderful shape. He hasn't gained a pound since last year (which is great for small dogs) he has stayed 10 pounds 4 ounces. The vet said that he was in great health and all around a great dog, he did have to get two shots and his blood taken. I for warned them that I may cry, because I hate to see my little puppers in pain, I was good though and stayed calm. He didn't even flinch for his first shot, but his second really stung and he yelp really loud. I felt so sorry for him, when they drew his blood I got to stand by him and rub his ears. It didn't seem to bother him as much to get his blood taken than it did for the shots. Yogi was diffently ready to hit the road when he was done, the vet asked if she could give him a treat and I had to say no, because we don't give him any. She said that is why he is in the great health that he is in. I told Dr Baker that I was pregnant and trying to do everything I could to get Yogi ready for the new arrival, she said we were doing everything right. I told her that we were going to let Yogi be around the baby as much as possible so that he feels included in everything. She said that was fine he was up to date on all his vactinations and it wouldn't harm the baby at all. The last thing I want is for Yogi to get depressed and not act like the happy dog he is, I think Yogi will be a great big brother and when the baby gets older all he'll want is to be with her and not us.
I did end up giving Yogi a peanut butter kong when we got home and bought him a new toy later that evening for being so good. He was a little sore yesterday but was back to his self today.
