Christmas came and went with excitement for everyone!!! Jeff and I had decided to wait until Christmas to tell everyone about our news. A few people new before hand, but not many. Besides my Mom, and Tori, the only other person that new was my partner at work. We share an office and sit about 2 inches from each other so it was kind of mandatory that she new mostly since I wasn't feeling all that great. We went to get our sono right before my 8 week mark, and let me tell you I was nervous so was Jeff. Everything ended up being great! I was further along than I thought, and the baby's heart beat was very strong I believe 162. So that made both of us relax a little. When I got back to work (most of you know I work with both of my sister's) Tori was waiting for me in my office wanting to look at the sono pictures. I had decided on the way back from the doctor that I couldn't wait to tell Mandy (my older sister) any longer. So I thought what a perfect time all three of us could be there. You should have seen her reaction, I think it was the best one to date. She screamed so loud and started crying which in turn made Tori and I start to cry and even Teresa (my coworker) started crying. I told her she only had to keep it a secret for a few days.
We thought it would be fun tell everyone on Christmas by putting the sono pictures in there Christmas cards. We did give Jeff's brother and sister-in-law a couple days early so we didn't have to worry about them opening there card the same time as Jeff parents. I believe everyone had the same expression on there face when they opened up there cards. There were definitely hugs going around for everyone. There were a few tears of joy shed by some which in turn made me cry. We also appreciate all the phone calls from friends and family congratulating us. When I got back to work on Wednesday, Teresa was ready with an e-mail to send out telling everyone at work our good news. I think it was harder for her to keep the secret than it was for me. Plus she had bought us the cutest little yellow outfit.
I think the number 1 asked question is "our you going to find out what it is?" The answer is YES! I do not want to, but Jeff does so he has won that battle. He says he doesn't want to paint the nursery while I'm in the hospital. We are not telling the name. We thought that should at least be a secret. So many people are critical of names and they always feel like they should state there opinion when it really doesn't count. The second frequently asked question is "how do you think Yogi is going to act?" Yogi loves babies and kids so I think he will be okay. I'm sure he will be a little jealous at first, but we just have to make sure we give him the same love and affection we've always given him. I think we will all enjoy the new addition to the family.
